Men's basketball fans in the Horizon League are some of the most die-hard fans in the country. With that comes a rigorous following of recruitment. Incoming players can make or break a season, a coaching stint, or a program's future. We recognize the need to discuss recruiting at length, and are willing to let all teams discuss recruits here. However, we have rules that everyone must abide by. I have an aggregate set of rules, slightly edited, from Horizon League message boards that have recruiting sections.
1. Never mention the name of a coach if you have information from them. This is paramount, as we do not want to attract trouble.
2. Discussing anything that involves NCAA violations, whether they be primary or secondary, is not permitted unless the violations are well-known (USC football). We don't want to be the cause of an investigation.
3. Respect privacy and people. Young prospective student-athletes do not need their names dragged through the mud or their private actions made public. See a recruit drunk on Navy Pier? Zip your lip. Exposing himself at Summerfest? No talkie. Expose himself on the glass at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Let it be. The point is, these are people and they don't deserve every move being shouted out to the masses.
Basically these rules were ripped off of PantherLou at the UWMFreak board, but they must be followed.
