The women's program is definitely something to be proud of. They set a very high bar and I'll be rooting for them come NCAA tournament time. The men's program is going to take sometime, as long as they don't repeat this year it will be an improvement and I feel Crenshaw can accomplish that for next year. Whether he can bring the program to be a winning one, is too early still on that.

So, uh... This is rather expected, but big news anyway. IUPUI to split into two universities by fall 2024This is similar to what happened with IPFW, where it split into Purdue Fort Wayne and IU Fort Wayne, in which Purdue Fort Wayne kept the athletic department and most of the collegiate stuff, while IU Fort Wayne took the medical school. What's likely going to happen is that Indiana University is going to take over the medical school portion while Purdue takes over the engineering. However, what factors into this will be that the athletic program will be part of IU, so I can definitely see IUPUI rebranding as IU-Indianapolis much like the other programs that compete in the Division 3 or NAIA levels. They could simply call themselves "Indianapolis" if they want; the University of Indianapolis, as far as I know, emphasize themselves as "UIndy", although this may cause some friction. But we all know they will still be called "Ooey-Pooey" no matter what.

It all depends on how serious Indiana University is with the Indianapolis area and athletics in general. If they want to build something, they could help infuse a lot of money into the program so more people will talk about them and give IU Indy a chance to compete with Butler, UIndy, and Marian for recruits. But if they just think that athletics is an afterthought beyond health sciences, then it'll continue to just meander with the bare resources like always and have the Ooey Pooey stink.

I honestly didn't realize there was an IU Fort Wayne. Honestly goes to show having an athletics program goes a long way recognition.

Who are the biggest rivals?
Since 2014, we—the students and professors of the Know Rivalry Project—have been answering this question for professional sports with the help of message board members. Now we are expanding our research to the Horizon League. Please help us ensure that IUPUI Men's Basketball is included by taking 9 minutes to complete our updated survey:
Our previous results have been featured in numerous sports media outlets such as the New York Times. You can view those results, links to media coverage, and learn more about us at our KnowRivalry.com website.
We use the Qualtrics online survey software for data collection. This academic research has been approved by two universities' Institutional Review Boards (IRB) and it poses no risks to respondents. You'll find more information on the disclosure agreement that is required to start the survey. Thank you for helping us to include IUPUI Men's Basketball by participating and please share this with any other fans that may also help.

I appreciate the reply, but IUPUI has no rivals. Unless "relevancy" is one, and in which case, we are pretty much the Boris Zhukov of the league.
Maybe Purdue Fort Wayne could be considered one, but they hardly have a student base that gets excited about athletics, and we have one that's even lower.
