So who wins the Conference awards and makes the all-conference teams? There's about a quarter of the conference schedule, or 15 percent or so of the season schedule, yet to play, but what's the fun of waiting. Here would be my picks if you had to pick 'em today: Player of the Year: Kiefer Sykes, Green Bay Defensive Player of the Year: Jordan Fouse, Green Bay 6th Man of the Year: Jon Harris, Cleveland State Newcomer of the Year: Kahlil Felder, Oakland Coach of the Year: Gary Waters, Cleveland State First Team All-Conference:Kiefer Sykes, Green Bay Kendrick Perry, Youngstown State Alec Brown, Green Bay Juwan Howard, Detroit LaVonte Dority, Valparaiso Second Team All-Conference:Travis Bader, Oakland Corey Petros, Oakland Kahlil Felder, Oakland Evan Bruinsma, Detroit Trey Lewis, Cleveland State Third Team All Conference:Matt Tiby, Milwaukee Jordan Aaron, Milwaukee Bobby Hain, Youngstown State Kelsey Barlow, UIC Jordan Fouse, Green Bay All Defensive Team:Jordan Fouse, Green Bay Alec Brown, Green Bay Kendrick Perry, Youngstown State Duke Mondy, Oakland Moussa Gueye, Valparaiso All Newcomer Team:Kahlil Felder, Oakland Matt Tiby, Milwaukee Kelsey Barlow, UIC Trey Lewis, Cleveland State Jon Harris, Cleveland State Read more: udtitanbasketball.freeforums.net/thread/252/year-end-conference-awards#ixzz2tGEihwNB

The only difference I'd make commissioner would be to switch up Travis Bader for Juwan Howard, Jr.

I figure that the voters will react as you do Chuck, that everyone just sort of figures Bader is a first teamer. But if you look at the breakdown above, I think Howard has quite clearly been the better player in conference games, and also - though less clearly - the better all-around player overall. I do give extra weight to conference games. Also, bear in mind that Howard is a better defensive player - he typically draws the other team's top scorer unless that player is a center or point guard. It's fair to note that opposing teams are always watching out for, double teaming, trying to keep the ball away from Bader (although OU actually has more offensive threats than UD), but the same is true of Howard. I'll bet if you did the same sort of comparison between Dority and Bader you'd find about the same thing.

Update: I'd substitute Bader for Dority on the first team at this point. Don't think I'd change anything else yet, except maybe Coach of the Year to Wardle over Waters.

Yeah, it does appear that Bader's made a heckuva move during the time of your first post on this.
