Regarding your comment on the linked thread about YSU possibly being over the scholarship limit - they are at the limit of 13:
Seniors (4): Rosic, Williams, Santiago, Morse. Strollo (son of YSU AD) is non-scholarship
Juniors (3): Haygood, Davis, Morgan (transfer to sit out)
Sophomores (2): Hartfield, Ferguson
Freshmen (4): Brown, Covington, Bohannon, Akuchie
Covington did sign his LOI

So that opens up one more scholarship for YSU to give for next season.

We've got 8 offers out (6 for '17-'18) and I guess we're probably gonna have to wait until close to the May 17 deadline before we get some commitments!

It looks like McLain was caught off guard by the Santos transfer and Eboigboden de-commit. But he's a hustler--I'm confident he'll land some decent talent, and UIC should be pretty good no matter what. The Eboigboden thing doesn't hurt this coming year so much as 2-3 years out.

earlier this week, guard Latin Davis announced he was transferring from YSU.
YSU filled that scholarship tonight with a commitment from 6-3 guard Deaundra Murphy of Huntington St. Joseph. Average 27 ppg as a senior.
Calhoun had been recruiting him at Fairmont State. Took visits to Duquesne and YSU this past weekend. Appears Radford was his only other Division 1 offer.

UIC got a commitment from 6'7"-6'8" F Michael Diggins, Jr. for the '17-'18 season.
If Coach McClain can just surround the core group of players (Odiase, Ottey, Boahen, Dixson, Matthews, Ferguson) with athletic wings and bigs, we'll be just fine.

I think Milwaukee has the best class. The guys they have coming in have good size for their position and are solid athletes.
I like the idea of GB's class but they have guys like Bains, Parham and Chevalier that weren't highly recruited. While those guys have good size and skill it remains to be seen if it will translate to the HL. The other issue with GB's class is the two best guys on paper are going to sit out this year.

I'd have to say Milwaukee and Detroit Mercy, with Youngstown State right behind.

Detroit Mercy. Jermaine Jackson Jr. might end up being the third-best recruit of their May 1st commitment haul.
Roshcon Prince is an adult man. Lots of recruits are kids. This guy is fully developed. Every time I turned on a Long Beach State game this season, I felt like Prince was getting underutilized in comparison to Gabe Levin. Prince is going to be a beast in the Horizon League.
If you count guys who sat out this year, then you have to include Oakland in the conversation. Honestly, I'm troubled by the whole Nunn thing, but he's a talented ball player.

I hope you are correct on Prince. After losing Hogan we'll need all he can give us.

Get your hands on a Long Beach State game. I watched his game this year at Cal State Fullerton. IIRC he's had better statistical games, but he was a man among boys in the Cal State Fullerton road game. You're not gonna miss Jaleel Hogan nearly as much as you would if you were waiting on other kids to develop. Prince is ready to go. He'll do well in the Horizon League.
