I do like the 2-game aspect of it. It also gave me a chuckle when the article said the Summit League will find an outside school to be the 10th opponent of the Horizon. They might have to find 2 if Fort Wayne is invited after this season. Maybe that's why the Challenge won't start until 2020.

That seems silly to find an outside school as the 10th. Why not just do 9 Horizon vs 9 Summit. The BIG v ACC does 14 v 14. While the ACC leaves 2 schools at home.

I agree. It just amounts to 2 more non-con games that the other school will be playing which won't do anything for the Strength of Schedule of the Summit. They might as well go ahead and just play 9 from the HL against 9 from the Summit and call it a day!

Between this and our "alliance" with C-USA and the Sun Belt, that's four OOC games taken off the docket. If you consider that nearly every team in the conference jumps at the best tournament they can get for the extra two games, we're left with five OOC games to schedule. That's going to make it tough for any OOC rivalries.

Anyone know if the HL/SL challenge is still going to happen or did the idea get scrapped after the HL expanded. I think we can still do it, but 2 schools will sit out. Which 2 is the question? Honestly I'm not sure now is the best time as the league has seen better days. We will see.
